Pitzens purchase rodeo broncs

Cimarron Pitzen & Associates have just returned from Miles City, Mont. where they attended the world famous Miles City Bucking Horse Sale. Eastern Montana has been a producer of horses of all kinds for over 100 years.

In the early 1900s when horses started to be replaced by machines, many of the horses were turned loose and multiplied as wild horses. As the world of rodeo started to become organized, Montana became a supplier of bucking horses for much of the United States as thousands of broncs roamed the high plains. The Miles City Bucking Horse Sale was started in 1950 to help provide a market for those horses and continues to this day.

The Pitzens have attended this sale for many years. Howard Pitzen attended for the first time in 1967 and since has purchased hundreds of horses over the years. Some have become famous such as Fever Reliever, Big Sky, Malto and White Eye.
