The two new part-time Deer River License Bureau clerks, Mandy Ramsdell and Jenna Nelson, started on the job in the Deer River City Hall on Sept. 15.

The hire of the two was approved by the Deer River City Council at the Aug. 25 council meeting after interviews with the qualifying applicants.

Ramsdell, a 2000 Deer River High School graduate, is the daughter of Mark and Lynn Rittmiller.

“For the last 11 years,” said Ramsdell, “I worked in the Deer River hospital (now known as Essentia Health-Deer River) dietary department.”

Scott Ramsdell and Mandy were married in 2007. They have a seven-month-old son named Gavyn.

Nelson is a 2007 Grand Rapids High School graduate. Her parents are Mike and Doris Olson.

“I went to school for graphic design after high school,” said Nelson, “and worked as a graphic designer for Minute Man Press in Grand Rapids.”
