Bigfork High School graduation ceremonies will take place Saturday, May 30, at 2 p.m., at the Jerry Chiabotti School Gymnasium.
Leading the class this year are Valedictorian Kendra Porter and Salutatorian Melissa Grover.
Porter is the daughter of Kenneth and Deborah.
My high school career has always involved extracurricular activities including Volleyball (9th-12th), Basketball (9th-11th), Track and Field (9th-12th), Boys Basketball Manager (12th), Student Council (9th-10th), Bigfork High School’s Rachel’s Challenge Club (11th) and Choir (9th-12th)
The major honors that I have received throughout my time consist of a standing in National Honor Society (11th-12th), the Student Leaders Program (11th-12th), Bigfork High School Student of the Quarter and Honor Student (9th-12th). Thus far I have received a few scholarships including a merit scholarship from the college that I will be attending.
I will be attending the University of North Dakota this fall. As of right now, I plan on pursuing a degree in psychology/counseling and then continuing on to grad school to obtain my Masters. I want to enter the field of psychology/counseling because I am very passionate about helping and caring for people and I want to give a part of myself for the betterment of someone else. I really yearn to make a difference in people’s lives and I would have the credentials to work with those who deserve it most, our United States Veterans.
Pursuing this career would leave me with the utmost feeling of fulfillment and gratification while also providing me with the chance to give back to others.
The most influential people in my life have been my family. My parents and two older siblings have provided me with an unyielding amount of support and love. Without them I would be nowhere near the person I am today. Thank you guys for always having faith in me and pushing me beyond the limits I set for myself. I love you all so much!
The most memorable aspect of attending Bigfork High School that I will always remember is the small town atmosphere. It is a school where the teachers and staff go above and beyond the call of duty to see out each one of their students success. I am forever grateful to all of the staff and Bigfork High School for equipping me with the necessary knowledge and tools that it will take to achieve my goals in my future college career. Thank you staff!
