“This may seem cliché, but my family is made up of those who have had the greatest influence in my life growing up. They have taught me about what to value in life and how to live by those beliefs. One of the biggest lessons they have taught me is to do everything I do to the best of my ability. Also, my family has guided me through life’s various joys and struggles. Without my family, I wouldn’t be who I am today.

“Overall, my involvement in extracurricular activities has been the most memorable aspect of my educational experience. These groups and organizations are going to be what I remember after high school. They have helped me grow in my leadership skills, musical ability, and academic prowess. Through these groups, my horizons have widened and I have learned so much about myself and others. The friendships I’ve made and the opportunities I’ve had will stay with me long after I graduate.”

Onraet is the daughter of Rita Onraet and the late Tim Onraet.

Her extra-curricular activities include Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Bowling, Academic All-State, Girls State citizen, AAA award (sub-section winner), Gustavus Scholarships, LINK crew, NHS, Spanish Club, Band and Choir.

When asked about her future plans, Onraet said, “I plan to attend Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter this fall and go into mathematics and statistics or computer sciences.

“My parents and grandparents have been the most influential to me because they have all been a part of my entire life and have supported me through everything I’ve wanted to be a part of. They taught me about responsibilities and how to take care of things with our resort as I’ve grown up. Also, they’ve provided for me and been able to give me unbelievable experiences. We’ve had a lot of opportunities to travel and see the world in many different ways. They’re always looking out for me and encouraging me to always try my best.”

“I’m grateful that I’ve had so many amazing opportunities while experiencing once in a lifetime moments during school. It really means a lot to me that our community is small so we’ve all grown close. I always feel welcomed and have gotten to know a lot of awesome and supportive people so I never feel left out. Positivity is always surrounding me and being involved is always encouraged so I can make the most out of this time of my life. I also appreciate the fact that I was part of the last graduating class at North Elementary school because it was a really unique opportunity to be a part of and it was a great start to my education.”
