An Itasca County sheriff’s deputy who was terminated from his position last year has had his job reinstated.
In an arbitration ruling issued last month by the Minnesota Bureau of Mediation Services and recently made available on its website, Arbitrator David Biggar determined that Investigator-Supervisor Michael Bliss should not have been terminated by the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office and should be reinstated to his former position.
The arbitrator also determined that some misconduct alleged by the employer did occur and that Bliss should be disciplined for violating “office policy by encouraging an employee of another supervisor to bypass the chain of command and come to him with issues and that he violated policy when he used his squad car for personal reasons.”The content you are trying to access is only available to members.
