School board impressed with students, staff and contractor’s drone

by Barbara Cameron

Deer River school board members met for their regular monthly meeting on Oct. 17 in the recently refurbished media center at the high school. Present at the table with the full board were the superintendent, business manager and administrative assistant. Along with usual reports from personnel, the directors also heard updates from the counseling department, the King expansion contractor and a student council representative.

Chair Ryan Fox began the meeting with an invitation to recite the flag pledge and announcements of some changes to the agenda. These included confirmation of Jen Stefan as the standing principal of King School, once they’ve received word from the state’s department of education (MDE), and creation and posting of a maintenance position. Also, the guests at this meeting would be heard from following completion of the board’s regular business.

The directors approved minutes from last month’s regular meeting, the September accounts payable, transfers and payroll, and the consent agenda as amended. The content you are trying to access is only available to members. Sorry.
