On Dec 23, Chief Justice Lorie S. Gildea and Governor Mark Dayton announced the following appointments to the Legislative Salary Council. Governor Dayton also selected an appointee to serve as the initial chair. The council will then vote on a chair at its first meeting. This council was created to prescribe salaries for legislators upon Minnesota’s voters passing the Constitutional Amendment. The appointments to this citizens-only council are evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats and include one member from each congressional district.
“I am pleased to join with Chief Justice Gildea in making these appointments to the Legislative Salary Council,” said Governor Dayton. “They are all very distinguished citizens, who represent well the political and geographical diversity of Minnesota.”
“I am grateful that so many citizens applied to participate on the Legislative Salary Council,” said Chief Justice Gildea. “It is clear that this is an important issue to the people of Minnesota, and I appreciate all of those who volunteered to contribute their time, talent, and expertise on the council.”The content you are trying to access is only available to members.
