On a frosty Sunday we took a slow drive around the Chippewa National Forest. Just in time, a sweet smelling balsam fir came into my house, where Christmas echoes as I split my time between Dad and home. His heart is failing, too much of him having gone with Mom in August. After 59 years together it is the only life he really wants to know. I get that.
