110 Years Ago—There was joy reigning supreme at the Christmas tree celebration…the basement of the new Methodist church was used for the occasion…every seat was occupied and little standing room remained. Invitations have been mailed out for the annual ball to be given by the Eagle Lodge on New Year’s Eve. Two months’ experience has been enough to demonstrate to the satisfaction of Doctor Hanley that starting a hospital in Deer River is not a profitable investment.
