She was born in 1929 in Duluth to Daniel and Anna Helewski. She graduated from Central High School in Duluth. For a short time, she worked as a bank teller in Duluth. On Oct. 4, 1947, she was united in marriage to Gerald Wourms and they made their home in Cohasset. Lorraine was a homemaker and also did adult foster care for people in need. Gerald died in 1985. In 1986, Lorraine married William Ross Tucker. They made their home in Bena until he passed in 1998. In 2000, Lorraine was united in marriage to William “Bill” Rother. Lorraine was a member of the VFW auxiliary, Women of the Moose, Red Hat Society, and the quilting group at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Federal Dam. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Gerald Wourms; second husband, William Ross Tucker; two sisters, Mary Anderson and Dorothy Elmquist; three brothers, John, Jerry, and James Helewski; two sons-in-law, Kenneth Schwartz and Danny O’Brien; one granddaughter, Victoria Ann Sunne; one stepgrandchild; and four great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Rother; five daughters, Judy Mundt of Walker, Penny O’Brien of Cohasset, Michelle Schwartz of Grand Rapids, Roxanne Foley of Inver Grove Heights and Shirley Schackman of Kerkhoven; three sons, Nick Wourms of Cohasset, Michael Wourms of Warba and Joseph Wourms of Cohasset; three stepsons, William Rother Jr. of Plainview, Edward Rother of Plainview, and John Rother of Oakland, Calif.; 31 grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 from 11 a.m. until the 12 noon Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Cohasset. Burial will be at a later date at Wildwood Cemetery, Cohasset.
